(Last modified: 2013-01-17 10:28:55) Source: The Newport Plain Talk NEWPORT-Law enforcement authorities arrested two people suspecting of selling drugs in the Newport/Cocke County area, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported. Jeremy George Jones, 23, of 181 Alpha Road, in Newport, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 15, and charged with possession of Schedule 4 for resale, possession of a firearm with intent to go armed, tampering with evidence, and introduction of drugs into a penal facility, Deputy Sheriff Danny Hartsell and K9 Deputy Sheriff Chris Gregg reported. Officers were called to Rock Hill Road, at River Chase Road, around 4 p.m., for a truck possibly dumping tires illegally. Officers arrived and saw two trucks together on the side of the road, the report stated. Jones was the driver of s 2007 Ford truck. His license came up as revoked for DUI on Jan. 6, 2012.
