NEWPORT—The Cocke County Legislative Body will meet in special called session  at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, in the Circuit Courtroom.

Among items of business to be considered are:

• Filling the vacancy created on the Cocke County Legislative Body by the  death of County Commissioner Bill Williamson, in the 5th District, Post 2.

• Approving the appointment of members to the Emergency Communication District Board, consisting of the following positions: Newport City Fire Chief, One member of the Rescue Squad, one member of the general public and one member of County Commission

Approving a resolution urging TN State Legislature to pass an amendment to T.C.A. 67-4-601 amending Cocke County's private act in regard to Litigation Tax
