AFTON-It didn't always look pretty on Friday evening, but the Cosby Eagles found a way to advance.

The Eagles downed Chuckey-Doak 51-46 to claim a spot in the Greene County Thanksgiving tournament championship on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. against North Greene.

Despite several turnovers in the first half, the Eagles found a way in the fourth to pull out the win.
A huge reason for that was senior Cory Valentine who tallied 19 points, 10 of which came in the final quarter.  Zach Daruna added 14 in the win.

Head coach John Marsh was proud of his entire team though, for finding a way at the end.

"Coming in, we knew this was going to be a battle," Marsh said. "We said to the team, this is the championship tonight. This is (Chuckey-Doak's) tournament and it's their home court. They're big, they're solid and they're athletic."

"I'm real proud of the way we fought through a very competitive game. That was good for us, especially on the road. That's going to payoff down the stretch for us," Marsh said.
