AFTON-It was not necessarily easy, but the Cosby Eagles and Lady Eagles advanced to the semifinal round of the Greene County Thanksgiving Tip-off Tournament with victories over West Greene High School on Tuesday night at Chuckey-Doak High School.

Both teams played through slumps, but were able to presevere down the stretch to take the wins.
The Lady Eagles survived a late rally by West Greene before taking a 52-46 win. Meanwhile the Eagles used a 29-5 run, which spanned most of the third quarter, to roar back from an 11-point deficit to take a 69-54 victory.

The two teams will play Chuckey-Doak High School in Friday night's semifinal round. The Lady Eagles will play in a 7 p.m. semifinal and the Eagles take to the court at 8:30 p.m.
