An in-county battle highlighted local English Mountain Football Conference play on a soggy Saturday afternoon.

The Cosby Little League football program took two of three games from Parrottsville at Raymond Large Field Saturday.

The Cosby super grasscutters took a 33-0 shutout of the Parrotts, while the Eagles peewees won a 13-6 battle.

Parrottsville's lone win of the day came in a 46-13 win in grasscutter play.

In other local English Mountain Football play, Newport took two out of three at Sevierville.

The Roosters prevailed in super grasscutter and peewee play, but could not win their grasscutter
game.

Newport won the super grasscutter game over Sevierville by a 28-18 margin and took a 32-14 decision in the peewee game.

The Roosters grasscutter team fell by a 31-6 score.

Edgemont took one of three games at Strawberry Plains on Saturday morning.

The Rams grasscutters took a 33-20 win over the Raiders. However, Edgemont lost 33-0 in super grasscutter play and then 32-13 in peewee action.

In other games on Saturday, Pigeon Forge took two of three from Northview. Pigeon Forge won the super grasscutter and peewee game, but did not win the grasscutter game in a 13-9 loss.

Dandridge swept White Pine, dominating all three games. The Broncos won the grasscutter game 19-0, the super grasscutter game 33-0 and the peewee game 40-6.

Jefferson City took two of three from Grainger County, winning the grasscutter contest 20-6 and the peewees game 7-6.

Grainger County however won the super grasscutter game 14-0.

Talbott took two of three games from New Center, winning the super grasscutter game 33-0 and the peewee game 41-0. New Center however won the grasscutter game 42-0.

Gatlinburg took two of three Saturday games over Claiborne County, winning 13-0 in grasscutter play and 20-7 in peewee play.

Claiborne County won 19-0 in super grasscutter games.
