No one was injured in an unusual accident on Friday on Main Street. Stanley Cutshall, 67, of
Drive Way, in Newport, said when he went over a bump on Main Street at Woodlawn Avenue
at about 12:15, his boat and trailer broke loose from the hitch. The boat and trailer then went
about 30 yards and struck two vehicles: a 2000 Pontiac Montana seen here, that was driven
by Leslie Marie Brew-Munn, 17, of Iris Place, in Newport; and a 2007 Nissan Frontier driven by
Charles Ford, 47, of Highway 73, in Newport. Patrolman Heather Lawson said each of the two
vehicles hit by the boat/trailer sustained damages over $400. The boat also suffered over
$400 in damages, she said. The front part of the trailer with the boat hit the Pontiac seen here
and slid up the front, cracking its windshield.
