NEWPORT-Applications are now being accepted for a new Keep Cocke County Beautiful Executive Director.

According to Charlene Cureton, KCCB Board Chair, applications are available at the Newport/Cocke County Chamber of Commerce Office, 433 B Prospect Ave. Resumes with references may also be mailed to the same address.

The part-time, year-round position calls for a person who is computer literate. "Public speaking abilities are also a must," said Cureton, "because our director will be required to speak to many, many local groups-schools, civic clubs, and church groups-for example, as part of our group's efforts to educate our citizens about the importance of recycling and caring for our environment."

The new director will also be required to appear before the CLB and Newport Board of Aldermen to give reports.

'KCCB is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful," said Cureton, "and has earned national recognition for its outstanding work. Our board is committed to hiring a new executive director who will lead our group to higher accomplishments."
