DUI and driving on a suspended license

Ryan Scott Marks, 28, of 1006 Raymond Way, in Sevierville, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 31, and charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license, according to arresting officers, Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton and Constable Danny Hartsell.

 

Violation of community correction

Jason Edward Perkey, 27, of 929 Ditney Way, in Sevierville, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 30, and charged with violation of community correction, Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton reported.

 

Arrested for possessing Xanax

Jimmy Bice, 25, of 154 Cheyenne Circle, in Cosby, was arrested Friday, Jan. 29, at 11:30 p.m., and charged with possession of Xanax without a valid prescription, Sgt. Armando Fontes reported.

 

Four drug charges in arrest

Teresa Shelton, 28, of 1986 Good Hope Road, in Parrottsville, was arrested Friday, Jan. 29, at 11:30 p.m., and charged with possession of Xanax Schedule IV without a valid prescription (six pills), possession of morphine Schedule II without a valid prescription (23 pills), possession of drug paraphernalia (two needles), and possession of Oxycontin Schedule II without a valid prescription (four pills), Sgt. Armando Fontes reported.

 

DUI and two other charges

Lester Vaughan, 45, of 1515 East Magnolia, in Knoxville, was arrested Friday, Jan. 29, at 9 p.m., at the West Citgo parking lot on Highway 25/70, and charged with DUI 1st offense, driving without a license, and having an open container of alcohol, Sgt. Armando Fontes reported.

 

Man facing DUI and other charges

Keith A. Wise, 46, of 2407 Knob Creek Road, in Bybee, was hospitalized and is facing charges of DUI 3rd offense, habitual motor vehicle offender, and driving on a revoked driver's license, once he is released, Sgt. Armando Fontes reported. Fontes wrote that Wise was "highly intoxicated" when he found him on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 6:20 p.m., behind the wheel of his 1994 Ford pickup truck with the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was stuck in some mud on the shoulder of the road, with no damage. Medical staff at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County allegedly found an injury to Wise's spine and had him transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

 

DUI, other charges

Shaunna J. Darnise Peak, 30, of 1393 Splashaway Road, in Newport, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 31, and charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license, possession of Schedule IV, and no insurance, Deputy Sheriff Hollis Emmons reported.

 

Vandalism alleged

Duane E. Mowery, 53, of Armory Road, in Newport, said that on Sunday, Jan. 31, between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., someone apparently drove by his home and shot paintballs at it from a vehicle. Sgt. Eric Rinehart reported he noticed five paint spots on Mowery's home.

Failure to obey stop sign, other charge

Victor S. Haney, 41, of 616 Myers Circle, was arrested Sunday, Nov. 31, and charged with failure to obey a stop sign, and for a failure to appear out of Cocke County, Patrolman Robby McMahan reported.

 

Arrested for alleged aggravated assault

Kimberly S. Ray, 21, of 616 Myers Circle, in Newport, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 31, and charged with aggravated assault (three charges), Patrolman Matt Franklin reported.

 

Criminal trespass

Jimmy T. James, 22, of 690 North Cecil St., in Newport, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 30, and charged with criminal trespass, Patrolman Matthew Elliott reported. James was arrested after someone at another residence on Cecil Street said there was a "peeping tom" looking through the bedroom of that residence.

 

Theft over $500

Robin Cash, 40, of Mineral Street, in Newport, said she noticed three white males around the age of 14, wearing dark hoodies, who were attempting to steal three bicycles from the side of her house. Cash said she woke up at 6 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, to find someone had stolen a go-cart (valued at $600), and a grill (valued at $30), Patrolman Matt Franklin reported.

 

Robbery reported

John M. Lovell, 16, of Fairfield Road, in Newport, said on Saturday, Jan. 30, that he gave a ride to a man and a woman to a room at the Parkway Inn. Lovell said that when he asked to use a restroom in their room, the woman allegedly signaled for the man to jump on Lovell. He allegedly choked Lovell and hit him with his fists about seven times in the back of the head. Lovell said the man took from him $575 in cash, an LG cell phone, a wallet, and a birth certificate, for a total value of $1,165, Lt. Terry Lawson reported.

 

Accident at White's parking lot

A witness said Ethel Vaughn, 75, of Musterfield, in Newport, was driving a 2010 Dodge through the White's parking lot at 208 West Broadway, on Saturday, Jan. 30. The witness said Vaughn stuck the rear of a 1996 Nissan Altima owned by Wayne Rader of Trentham Hollow Road, that was parked in the lot. Vaughn then allegedly continued forward until she struck a metal post adjacent to the store. Sgt. Jason Smith reportedly spoke with Vaughn "who was very confused. She stated she didn't remember what happened and has been blacking out lately," according to the report. Vaughn was transported to the emergency room of the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County and checked for possible injuries.
