But, there was no sign of tired as Cosby came away with a sweep of the homestanding Eagles of Berean. The Lady Eagles (12-3) shook off a tough loss to Pigeon Forge on Monday night by cruising to a 27-point victory, 54-27, over Berean (3-12), despite a slow start. The Eagles (12-3) are on a roll, and won their eighth straight with a 74-56 victory over Berean (5-16).
LADY EAGLES BACK The Lady Eagles may have been still feeling the effects of their tough game with Pigeon Forge on Tuesday night in the first quarter at Berean on Tuesday. But once their offense got going, it was 'Good Night Irene.' Lady Eagle fans were a bit concerned in the early going as Berean led the Lady Eagles by four, 6-2, at the end of the first quarter. But that quickly changed. The Lady Eagles blasted Berean 23-6 over the second eight minutes, and took a 25-12 lead into the locker room, much to the relief of Lady Eagle fans. The Lady Eagles put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring Berean 19-8, and led 44-20 heading into the final quarter. The final eight minutes were a foregone conclusion, as the Lady Eagles cruised home with the 54-27 victory, their 12th on the season. The Lady Eagles buried seven three-pointers on the night, four from junior point guard Alyssa McMahan, two from Tiffany Smelcer and one from Brooklyn Stuart. Berean failed to connect from beyond the arc on the night. The Eagles started off quickly, and took an 18-6 lead into the second quarter. Berean made a run at the Eagles over the second eight minutes, however, and outscored the Eagles 19-15.
