The Cocke County Republican Women want to thank the Cocke County High School Beta Club and all the people at Cocke County High who planned and participated in the wonderful Veteran's Day program. We are sure there was not a better tribute to our veterans anywhere. It is because of the courage and sacrifice of countless generations of men and women in our armed services that we are able to continue to live in our great country, the land of the free and the home of the brave. President Ronald Reagan once said, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free." May we all never forget to thank a veteran for their part in helping to preserve our freedom. May we never forget the men and women who are currently serving and fighting to keep us free. Thank you again, Cocke County High School, for your stirring and profound tribute.
