Arrested for public intoxication James Thomas Thompson, 26, of Shore Lane, in Newport, was arrested Saturday, Oct. 10, and charged with public intoxication, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported. Violation of probation Jonathan L. Grooms, 20, of 3201 Cosby Highway, in Cosby, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 4, and charged with violation of probation, Deputy Sheriff David Crowder reported. Domestic assault arrest David Hale, 32, of 713 Industrial Road, in Newport, was arrested Sunday, Oct. 11, at 1 a.m. and charged with domestic assault, Sgt. Armando Fontes reported. Public intoxication and assault charges in arrest Michael Arthur Patterson, 33, of 4202 Indian Camp Creek Road, in Cosby, was arrested Friday, Oct. 9, and charged with public intoxication and assault, Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton Aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000 Brandon L. Hall, 27, of 567 Bonanza Drive, in Newport, was arrested Saturday, Oct. 10, and charged with aggravated burglary and thief over, Deputy Derrick Webb reported. DUI 1st offense and violation of financial responsibility law John M. Bowers, 27, of 1310 Spring Valley Lane, in Sylacauga, Al., was arrested Sunday, Oct. 11, and charged with DUI 1st offense and violation of financial responsibility, Det. Derrick Webb reported. Public intoxication Roxanne Marie Barber, 32, of 341 Sparrow Drive, Surf beach, S.C., was arrested Friday, Oct. 9, and charged with public intoxication, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported. Theft reported Bobby Stewart, 32, of 429 Rock Hill Road, in Newport, said an acquaintance came to his home and stole his Xbox 360 valued at $250, Sgt. Tony Whitten reported. Assault and threats alleged George Binikos and nurse Nicole Ford, at Newport Health and Rehab, at 135 Mariner Drive, in Newport, said that on Saturday, Oct. 10, a man upset about Newport Health and Rehabilitation transferring a relative of his to Baptist Hospital of Cocke County shoved Ford, and looked at Binikos and stated he would be back, before going to the hospital, Deputy Sheriff Tony Bailey reported. Theft reported Jennifer Turner, 30, of Flatwoods Way, said that she returned home on Thursday, Oct. 8 to find someone had entered her home and stolen a pocketbook worth $1,200, a camcorder valued at $400, $160 in cash, $80 in change, and shoes valued at $80, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported. Theft on Long Creek Road Frances Marline Huff, 76, of Long Creek Road, said on Sunday, Oct. 11, someone apparently picked the lock on her front door and stole several items, sometime between Thursday, Oct. 1, and Oct 11, Deputy Sheriff Derrick Webb reported. The total value of items, including an unknown number of rings valued at $1,000, various necklaces worth $1,000, and bracelets worth $900, was $5,065. Theft reported Olivia Williams, 33, of Fullington Way, said someone stole several items from her home, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, Deputy Sheriff Derrick Webb reported. Stolen was a cell phone charger (valued at $30), a princess ring ($100), diamond earrings ($250), a vase ($20), five picture frames ($35), and a wood nightstand ($200). Someone allegedly shot at market William F. Toomey, 55, of Rocky Flats Road, said that on Monday, Oct. 12, someone shot at his store on Hooper Highway with a shotgun. They hit a pole at Toomey's gas pump and an ice cooler, Sgt. Eric Rinehart reported. Accident in Del Rio Roy E. Ball, 62, of 1544 Cascade Road, in Parrottsville, said he tried to steer his 2004 Toyota Camry into a ditch to avoid a head-on collision with a 1997 Ford pickup truck driven by Cody D. Ellison, 17, of 1550 Chapel Hollow Road, in Del Rio. Ellison reportedly said he was coming down the hill, hit his brakes, and slid into the Toyota, Sgt. Tony Whitten reported. Accident on Highway 160 Billy C. Reece, 36, of 3420 Glenn Dale Road, in Bybee, said he was traveling south on Highway 160, at Airport Road, in his 2003 Chevrolet SUV, on Sunday, Oct. 11, when the vehicle left the right side of the road, rolled down an embankment, and came to rest on its top, Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton reported. Accident on Big Creek Road Christian M. Hawk, 22, of 3361 Tobacco Way, in Hartford, said that on Friday, Oct. 9, he was traveling south on Big Creek Road, near Interstate 40, when another vehicle came over to his side and hit the driver's side mirror on Hawk's 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV before fleeing. The vehicle was described as a Navy blue Trailblazer, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported. Police Several charges Jackie D. Gaylon, 25, of 212 Ogle Road, in Seymour, was arrested Saturday, Oct. 10, and charged with DUI 2nd offense, driving on a revoked license, violation of traffic control device, and violation of implied consent, Capt. Scott Lamb reported. Theft under $500 Shawn D. Meeks, 25, of the Bryant Town projects, was arrested Friday, Oct. 9, and charged with theft under $500, Patrolman William Garber reported. Violation of probation Scott K. Kelly, 35, of 614 River St., in Newport, was arrested Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3 a.m., and charged with violation of probation, Patrolman Allen Stump reported. Assault and disorderly conduct Adam F. Santillian, 28, of 634 North St., in Newport, was arrested Saturday, Oct. 10, and charged with assault and disorderly conduct, Lt. Terry Lawson reported. Arrested for no car insurance or valid license Kenneth J. McMahan, 58, of 460 Viewmont Circle, in Newport, was arrested Friday, Oct. 9, and charged with driving on a revoked license and the financial responsibility law.
