NEWPORT-Several businesses and offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday.

National Bank of Newport, Newport Federal Bank, US Bank, and Tennessee State Bank will be closed.

GreenBank's lobby will be closed, but the drive-through window will be open from 7-7.

All Cocke County offices will be closed.

All Cocke County libraries will be closed.

Both Cocke County schools and Newport Grammar School will be open.

Newport city offices will be open.

Newport Utilites and Jefferson-Cocke County Utilities will be open, as will the Newport Plain Talk office.
