On Monday, June 22, the Tour stopped for a one-day event at Dead Horse Lake Golf Course in Knoxville. And, in the Boy's 16-18 Tour division, Newport's Blaze Sams finished third at 15-over, just three shots off the leader. Also on Monday, June 22, the Tour stopped for a two-day event at Ruggle's Ferry Golf Club in Strawberry Plains. In the Boy's 14-15 Masters division, Newport's Bud Perryman finished tied for ninth with a two-day total of 83, 10 shots behind the winner, Nathan Hodge of Jefferson City. In the Boy's 16-18 Masters division, Chase Atkins of Newport took home top honors with a two-over 74. Newport's Seth Moore finished at seven-over, 79, five shots off Atkins' pace. In the Girl's 15-18 Masters division, Newport's Victoria Barrett finished at 21-over, 93, good for an 11th place finish. The Tour made a stop at Lost Creek Golf Club in New Market on Tuesday, June 23, for a one-day event. Newport's Bud Perryman was back in action, and finished fourth at 14-over, 85, in the Boys 14-15 Masters division. In the Boy's 16-18 Masters division, Newport's Jake Shelton finished second at five-over, 76, four shots behind eventual winner Rafael Jackson of Rutledge. The tour made a stop at Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club in Signal Mountain for a two-day event on Monday and Tuesday, June 22-23. In the Girl's 15-18 Masters Division, Cocke County High School graduate and LMU signee Whitney Ball finished 12 overall with a two-day total of 183. And on Friday, June 26, a one-day stop for the Tour at Concord Park Junior Golf Course in Knoxville. In the girl's 8-11 Micros division, Newport's Alayna Perryman finished third overall with a 16-over, 52, seven shots off the leader and just two shots out of second place.Copyright © 2012, The Newport Plain Talk |
