Assault by domestic violence arrest Joshua Javier Gonzalez, 24, of 137 Castle Heights Drive, in Newport, was arrested Thursday, May 21, and charged with assault by domestic violence. Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Derrick Webb said Gonzalez and Rebecca Tucker began an argument inside of her vehicle from the Midnite Rodeo to Gonzalez' home. Gonzalez allegedly punched the vehicle's gearshift, windshield, and then her in the mouth, causing it to bleed. Gonzalez allegedly admitted to the assault. Failure to appear arrest April Marie Lyons, 27, of 476 Rankin Road, in Newport, was arrested Thursday, May 21, and charged with failure to appear, according to a report by Cocke County Deputy Sheriff David Parton. Lyons was arrested in Washington County on charges from Cocke County General Sessions Court. DUI 2nd offense and implied consent charges and arrest Marty Ray Hurst, 49, of 4823 Hooper Highway, in Cosby, was arrested Saturday, May 23, and charged with DUI 2nd offense and implied consent, according to arresting officer Robert Thornton of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department. Thornton said he stopped Hurst in a pickup truck after Hurst almost hit the deputy sheriff's car on Dark Hollow Road. Three charges in double arrest Celia Rodriguez, 23, of 1208 Fine St., in Newport, and Patty Rodriguez, 44, of 151 Hill Top Drive, in Newport, were arrested Thursday, May 14, and charged with aggravated burglary, theft under $500, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Hollis Emmons stated in a report he responded to a dispatch call of a burglary in progress on Hill Top Drive. The home reportedly belongs to Celia Rodriguez' aunt who told police the two women were not to be inside her residence. Upon the aunt's arrival, the suspects were allegedly found to have taken a Casio digital camera valued at $200 and an Airstream air compressor valued at $120 out of the house and placed in their vehicle without the owner's consent. Both defendants alleged had hypodermic needles in their possession, as well. DUI and other charges in arrest Trinity D. Sells, 30, of 1125 Royal Way, in Newport, was arrested Sunday, May 24, around 5 a.m. and charged with DUI 1st offense, open container of alcohol, violation of the light law, financial responsibility, and driving without a license. Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Armando Fontes wrote in a report that he was traveling south on Highway 73 when he saw a Ford Taurus with too many occupants and who were not buckled up. Sells, the driver, allegedly smelled of alcohol and performed poorly on sobriety tasks. Two bottles of whiskey were found in the vehicle partially filled. A Breathalyzer test allegedly showed Sells had a blood alcohol content of .16. One passenger was also arrested by Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton and charged with public intoxication and contributing to the delinquency of a minor who was also a passenger. Violation of probation arrest in alleged hit-and-run Eric Ridenour, 41, of 374 Laurel Springs Road, in Cosby, was arrested Sunday, May 24, and charged with violation of probation, according to a report by Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Jason Oury. The report stated that Oury traveled to Rooster Town Road to assist Constable Mike Shropshire detain a hit-and-run suspect. A warrant check allegedly showed Ridenour was wanted for a violation of probation. The Tennessee Highway Patrol was allegedly investigating the hit-and-run. Violation of probation charge added Jeremy John Freeman, 24, of 154 Mulberry Ave., in Newport, was charged with violation of probation out of General Sessions Court on Friday, May 22, while being held in the Cocke County Jail, according to a report by Sgt. Tony Whitten of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department. Violation of probation arrest Carroll R. Beaver, 65, of 647 Frog Pond Alley, was arrested earlier this month at his home and charged with violation of probation out of General Sessions Court, according to a report by Constable Roger Henderson. Aggravated assault charge and arrest Ricky Lynn Malone, 50, of 107 Lincoln Ave., in Newport, was arrested Sunday, May 24, around 1 a.m., after officers responded to a stabling call at Malone's residence, according to a report by Sgt. Armando Fontes of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department. David Barbee, 56, of 975 Barbee Road in Jefferson City, suffered serious injuries to his right arm, neck and head, apparently with a knife. He was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Public intoxication and delinquency of minor charges Anthony Leon Roberts, 20, of 940 Blue Mill Road, in Del Rio, was arrested Sunday, May 24, on Highway 23 and charged with public intoxication and contributing to a delinquency of a minor, according to a report by Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton. Several charges in arrest Jacen Valentine, 28, was arrested Sunday, May 24, around 8 p.m. on Maple Lane in Newport and charged with driving on a revoked license, two counts of resisting arrest, public intoxication and disorderly conduct, according to a report by Lt. Richard Caldwell of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department. Valentine allegedly resisted arrest and ran off when Caldwell stopped him on Friday, May 22, on Melton Avenue. Accident on Bogard Road near Blade Road Peter Seth Kleinman, 45, of 4096 Camp Hollow Road, in Sevierville, was driving a 1999 GMC Yukon headed east on Bogard Road on Sunday, May 24, around 11 p.m. Kleinman said he was negotiating a curve and went off the right side of the road into a ditch over a culvert. Damage was done to the front bumper, grill and passenger side fender and tire, according to a report by Cocke County Deputy Randall Hartsell. Police Prostitution arrest Lena M. McMahan, 49, of 442 Driskill Circle, in Newport, was arrested Monday, May 25, at around 10:45 p.m. at the Time Out Travel Center, after police responded to a report of a while female trying to prostitute herself at the center. Patrolman Rocky Parton allegedly arrived and saw McMahan get out of a tractor-trailer parked at the center. She allegedly saw a police car and attempted to hide under the truck, and subsequently admitted to attempting to prostitute herself. Public intoxication charge in arrest Ronald Jenkins, 53, of 966 Dawn Valley Way, in Parrottsville, was arrested Monday, May 25, and charged with public intoxication after officers were called to Masters Circle on a call of a possibly intoxicated male walking around. Patrolman Amy Elswick stated in a report that Jenkins was taken to jail to prevent harm to himself and others. Public intoxication on Freeman Avenue Herbert E. Haney, 57, of 860 Pullen Road, in Whitesburg, was arrested Saturday, May 23, and charged with public intoxication after police were dispatched to 560 Freeman Ave., in Newport, concerning a drunk man cursing his family members. Patrolman Matthew Elliott stated in a report that, "fearing for his safety and other family members," Haney was arrested for public intoxication. Arrest on Highway 25/70 Michael Hickey, 30, of 4471 East Andrew Johnson Highway, in Morristown, was arrested Monday, May 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Highway 25/70 near Carson Springs Road while allegedly driving a 1981 Ford Fairmont. Patrolman Derek Wright wrote in a report that a tag displayed in the back window of the Fairmont came back as a 1997 GMC. Further investigation allegedly further revealed that Hickey's license had been revoked for a DUI out of Hamblen County in 2006. He was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license for a DUI, illegal display of tags, and no proof of insurance. Public intoxication arrest on Highway 25/70 Bill J. Lemka, 39, of Little Mountain Road, in Russellville, was arrested Monday, May 25 at 12:40 p.m. at 1301 West Highway 25/70, in Newport, and charged with public intoxication. Patrolman Matthew Elliott stated in a report that Lemka allegedly "smelled of alcohol about his person and (was) very unsteady on his feet. (Lemka) had to be helped to the patrol unit by officers." Lemka was allegedly the passenger in a vehicle whose driver was arrested for driving on a revoked license. Open container and no lights on citations Eddie Pigg, 24, of 1191 Highway 107 South, in Del Rio, was alleged cited on Friday, May 22 by Patrolman Derek Wright for an open container violation. Pigg allegedly had an open bottle of Budweiser between his legs. He was also cited for driving south on Cosby Highway with no lights on. Shoplifting citation at Walmart Chelsey Oats, 16, of 304 Rich Road, in Newport, was cited for theft under $500 on Friday, May 22, at 9 p.m. at Walmart. Sgt. Jason Smith wrote in a report that Walmart security officers allegedly observed Oats wear a $7 hat outside the store that she had not paid for. Two-vehicle accident on Highway 25/70 Kevin C. Gregg II, 17, of 140 Carson Springs Road, in Newport, was allegedly in a 1997 Ford Taurus traveling west on Highway 25/70 in the left lane at Jaybird on Friday, May 22, around 1 p.m., and could not stop in time to avoid hitting a 1999 Ford Taurus in the rear driven by Taylor N. Baxter, 17, of 490 Apple Court Drive, in Newport, according to a report by Patrolman Donald Coakley. Baxter was also in the left lane and stopped for traffic when Gregg allegedly hit her vehicle. Two-vehicle accident on Cosby Highway Lisa M. Black, 37, of 161 Honey Lane, in Del Rio, was allegedly driving on Cosby Highway near Lakeview Street on Saturday, May 23, around 1 p.m. in a 2006 Ford Fusion and struck the rear of a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that had stopped or slowed down due to traffic on the Cosby Highway, according to a report by Sgt. Donna Hopkins. The motorcyclist was Larry J. Shrader, 52, of 364 W. Dumplin Valley Road, in Jefferson City. Accident in parking lot of Newport Town Center Helen T. Richardson, 51, of 28 Elena Lane, in Newport, was on Saturday, May 23, driving a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck and attempted to pull into a parking space at Newport Town Center, according to a report by Donna Hopkins. Richardson allegedly struck the side of a 2002 Buick LaSabre owned by James R. Gorrell, of 504 Wilson St., in Newport, that was parked facing north in an adjacent parking space. Hit-and-run alleged Jacob Colby, 16, of 1465 Timbertrail Drive, in Newport, was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion SUV and stopped for traffic on Sunday, May 24, around 8:20 p.m. on the Cosby Highway at the Cosby Cutoff, according to a report by Patrolman Derek Wright. Alexa Payne, 17, of 2528 Roundhouse Road, in Dandridge, was in a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette and turned left onto Cosby Highway and slid sideways, striking the SUV. Payne allegedly left the scene of the accident and was located later by Constable Danny Hartsell. The Corvette allegedly had "fresh damage" on its front bumper, according to Wright's report. Two-vehicle accident on South Highway 32 Shannon R. Gentry, 36, of 685 Commanche Drive, in Newport, was allegedly driving a 1997 Nissan on Sunday, May 24, around 6 p.m. and slowed to make a right turn onto Eply Road from South Highway 32, when his vehicle began to slide and he said he could not stop in time to avoid a collision with a 2005 Mazda driven by Tracy L. Lindsey, 29, of 559 Travis Way, in Newport. Lindsey told Patrolman Matthew Elliott that she was stopped on Highway 32 waiting on the traffic light to change. Vehicle hits stop sign pole Traci Miller Davis, 27, of 502 Browns Bridge Road, in Greeneville, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord on Thursday, May 21, around 5 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot when she attempted a left turn, turned too short, and struck a concrete pole support for a stop sign. Davis told Patrolman David R. Smith she did not see the sign. There was no damage to the sign. Vandalism alleged on Heritage Boulevard near Shoney's Justin Holt, 24, told Patrolman Heather Lawson that on Saturday, May 23, around 1:30 a.m., he was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram on Heritage Boulevard in front of Shoney's when hia vehicle was suddenly struck with several items. Holt told Lawson he stopped and investigated a wooded area behind houses on Pocahontas and that he and his friend Cody Turner, 17, found an individual hunched down with a handful of rocks and a bottle of copper BB's next to him. The individual denied he had tried to hit their vehicle and named several friends as the culprits. There was an estimated $1,000 in damage done to the vehicle's paint, according to Lawson's report. Fraud in billing alleged Roger Matthew Banner, 22, of 675 Lamons Circle, in Newport, said on Sunday, May 24, that he received a bill with his name on it for $168 from a porn company. The bill was allegedly sent to a suspected offender's grandmother after charges had not been accepted by Banner's credit card. The date of the transaction was Dec. 8. Banner said the porn company played a recording of the original call, which he said was the offender's voice. Burglary of auto alleged Kristin Lee, 19, of 2330 Early Road, in Newport, told Patrolman Allen Stump that on Monday, May 25, her 1995 Honda was broken into while parked at Ryan's Steakhouse restaurant. Lee said stolen from the car were a purse with a checkbook in it, her Social Security card, the car's radio, and two pairs of sunglasses. A video provided by Ryan's showed a white Saturn pull up to the Honda and the driver appeared to be doing something to the passenger side of the Honda, according to Stump's report. The purse was valued at $150, the radio at $100, and two sunglasses at $50. Drug paraphernalia allegedly found Joe Gunter, 49, of 220 Melton Road, in Newport, told Patrolman William Garber on Monday, May 25, that a young boy staying at his home found several hypodermic needles and a spoon lying on the ground behind his house.
