(Last modified: 2009-04-02 21:56:11) Source: The Newport Plain Talk DARK HOLLOW ROAD-Cocke County Sheriff's Department deputies and members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol pursued a red, 1995 Ford Taurus Tuesday evening, which traveled north on Highway 321 toward Newport City limits at speeds of 86 mph in 45 mph zones.
Deputy C.J. Ball and troopers pursued the vehicle through Newport before the driver pulled onto the eastbound Interstate-40 Exit 435 on-ramp and reached speeds of 115 mph before getting off at the Hartford exit. The Taurus driver continued through Hartford, Denton and Greasy Cove Road before coming full circle back to Highway 321. The driver eventually pulled into a private driveway and crashed into a fence off Dark Hollow Road. The car's driver, Johnnie M. Ogle, 2683 Happy Hollow Road, Sevierville, was arrested on charges of felony fleeing to evade by motor vehicle, reckless driving, three counts of speeding and violation of the financial responsibility law. Charges are pending from both the sheriff's department and the highway patrol. A male passenger traveling with Ogle received no charges from the incident. Copyright © 2012, The Newport Plain Talk |
