NEWPORT-An oath of office ceremony for those elected in the Aug. 7 county election will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, in the Circuit Courtroom of Cocke County Courthouse.

 

Those to be sworn in are Property Assessor Margaret Sorrell, school board members Pat Proffitt, Randy Shults and Rose Lovell and Constable Mitchell "Mike" Shropshire.

 

Judge Ben W. Hooper II will preside over the ceremony.
