Public intoxication arrest

 

Thursday, Dep. Robert Thornton arrested Kristopher Hobbs, 30, 750 Thompson St., Newport, on a charge of public intoxication.

 

 

Motor home vandalized

 

Wednesday, Dep. David Crowder filled out an incident report made by Davida Dockery, no age given, 945 Fairview St., Newport, concerning the vandalism of a 2000 Dodge F30 motor home owned by a man she let park the vehicle on her property. According to the report, Dockery noticed a window from the motor home laying on the ground. Dockery told Crowder she didn’t know if any items stored inside the motor home had been stolen.

 

 

Toyota hits whitetail

 

Saturday, Sgt. David Crum filled out a crash report made by Dwight Presnell, 61, 2360 Sinking Road, concerning an accident involving a his 2000 Toyota Tacoma and a whitetail deer. According to the report, Presnell was traveling north on Highway 340 in his Toyota when a deer ran over an embankment and onto the roadway. Presnell struck the deer, causing damage to his vehicle.

Jones arrested

 

Wednesday, Sgt. James Holt arrested Jennifer L. Jones, 26, 750 Thompson St., Newport, on a capias for a revoked bond.

 

 

Pole Rammed

 

Wednesday, Patrolman Jason Smith responded to a call made by Micheal Curto, 64, 95 Swastika Road, Schuyler Falls, N.Y., concerning damage done to his 2004 Dodge 2500 while he was driving through the Shoney’s parking lot. According to the report, Curto told Smith he was driving through the lot when he struck the concrete base of a pole. The estimated cost of damages done to Curto’s Dodge is $1,500.

 

 

Camaro title swiped

 

Tuesday, Sgt. Scott Lamb filled out an offense report made by Jessica Strickland, 27, 552 Eighth St., Newport, concerning a burglary at her residence. According to the report, Strickland told Lamb someone gained entry to her home through a bedroom window by pushing out its Plexiglas. Strickland stated several items were moved in the residence but the only thing reported missing was the car title to her 1984 Chevrolet Camaro.

 

 

Kubota tractor stolen

 

Friday, Patrolman Jason Smithy responded to a theft call reported at the A Through Z Rental, 773 Cosby Highway, Newport. Upon arrival, Smith spoke with an employee who stated that when he came to work he found a 2006 Kubota B 7510 tractor, along with its L 302 loader and B 4672 backhoe, had been stolen from the business. In addition, a 16-foot trailer, valued at 4,500, was also stolen. The estimated value of the tractor and its implements is $18,525.50.
