Photo by Vickie Mason Charles "Chuckie" Clevenger is the third candidate to announce for the coveted title of Cocke County Relay for Life 2008 Womanless Beauty Pageant winner. Clevenger of Newport will appear under the name "Cee Cee" Clevenger and perform to the tune, "Man, I Feel Like a Woman." Sponsored by Diana's Beauty Salon, "Cee Cee" is the son of Joyce Clevenger, Newport, and the late Jerry Clevenger. He has one son, Judd Clevenger, 6, and two sisters, April and Kandee. When not working with C & C Painting, he enjoys golfing and grilling hot dogs on the streets of Newport to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This year's pageant will be part of the grand celebration of Cocke County Relay for Life 2008 this Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, at the Cocke County A & I Fairgrounds.

Larry McCarter Gregg is the second contestant to announce his intentions of carrying home the title of Cocke County Relay for Life 2008's Womanless Beauty Pageant winner.

 

Gregg will represent Amedisys Home Health in the pageant.

 

A local plumber and pipefitter, Gregg is the son of Charles and Cecilia "Tillie" Owensby and Alan and Kay Gregg, all of Newport, and is married to the former Crystal Fox. He and his wife have two daughters, Kacie, 8, and Cadence 3.

 

A ten-year member of Tennessee Army National Guard, he served two years in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

For the pageant, he will be introduced to the song "I'm A Model" and under the name Lara McCarly Gregg.

 

Gregg is participating in the pageant in honor and remembrance of Ada Bee Robinson.
