Mr. Wayne 'Hoppy' Wills

Mr. Wayne 'Hoppy' Wills, age 61, of Parrottsville passed away peacefully Sunday, August 25, 2013, at his home with his wife by his side.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 32 1/2 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Verner Wills, sister Roberta Wills, mother-in-law Eliza Sherlin, and brothers-in-law Richard Sherlin, Dick Gentry, and June Swanny.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Jane Wills of the home; sons Kevin (Shorty) Wills and Jeremy Wills of Parrottsville; Terry Wills of Johnson City; granddaughters Peyton Douglas and Sydney Wills of Newport; sisters Viola Garrett Taylor of Asheville, NC; Cleo Swanny, Carolyn Gentry, and Pauline Stills, all of Hot Springs, NC and Shirley Frazier of Newport; brothers Alonzo Wills, Eugene Wills, and Lloyd (Nina) Wills, all of Hot Springs, NC; brother-in-law George (Jenni) Sherlin of Florida; sisters-in-law Betty (Jack) Wheeler of Newport and Janice Sherlin of Marshall, NC. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, and a lot of special friends and neighbors he thought a lot of.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home to go in procession to Antioch Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.
