Wilbur E. Lewis

Wilbur E. Lewis, age 90, of Newport, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Newport Health and Rehab. 

Mr. Lewis was a member of First Baptist Church, World War II Veteran, and a former employee of American Enka and Bush Brothers and Company retiring in 1986. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and UnaV (Taylor) Lewis; wife of 59 years Margaret H Lewis daughter Wanda Lewis Barnett; granddaughters Tammie D Williams and Ruth Ann Lewis; grandson Jerry L. Lewis; sister Beatrice Lewis; brothers James Edward Lewis and Albert Sidney Lewis. 

Mr. Lewis is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Charles Wayne Lewis of San Tan Valley, Arizona and Roger and Tammy Lewis of Newport; son-in-law James C. Barnett of White Pine; three sisters and three brothers-in-law Ruby and T.I. Marion of Newport, Jean and Roy Soper of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and Linda and Richard Owens of Newport; grandchildren Michael Williams, Regina Turner, and Gerae Van Dyke; great-grandcildren Jennifer and Scott Large, Casey Turner, Madelyn Lewis, Jaclyn Lewis, and Kristina Rose Lane; great-great-grandchildren Jeffery Riley Banks, Wyatt Thomas Banks, and Christina Rose Lane, several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Mooty, Dr. Charlie Boggan and Dr. Rich Lloyd officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Union Cemetery.
