Mrs. Magnolia (Nola) Ball

Mrs. Magnolia (Nola) Ball, age 72, of Cosby, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at her home.
Nola was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina and reared in the Chavis community in Cosby. She was a graduate of Business College and was employed as a cook at Hartford School for a short period of time.
Later she and her husband Jay became business owners of the Family Grocery Store in Cosby and the Raceway Convenient Store in Newport, from which they both retired.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Roe and Jane Holder Shults, brothers Harold Holder, Carl Holder, and Kenneth Holder, and sisters Ella Mae Holder Moore and Lela Holder Newman.
She is survived by her husband Jay V. Ball of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Buddy and Deana Ball, Brian and Faye Ball, and Arter Buddy and Theresa Ball; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Tim Costner; grandchildren Pattie (Jonathan) Brown, Jamie (Bruce) Burgin, Cody Ball, Hunter Ball, Jay Ball, Carrie Ball, Brian Ball, Sky Costner, Tasha Ball, Arter Buddy Ball, Jr., Allianna Ball, and Gabriel Ball, all of Cosby; Rick Gentry and Chris (Nicole) Hall of Kansas; great-grandchildren Danny Dale Burgin, Maddex Brown, Shana Ball, Taylor Ball, Felix Shults, J.P. Barnes, Lindsey Ball, Leecia Ball, Logan Ball, Jayce Ball, Kimberlyn Gentry, Larissa Gentry, Tanner Gentry, Matt Wilson, Kadence Hall, and Ethan Hall; brother and sister-in-law David and Edith Holder of Chesnee, South Carolina; sister Florence Holder Ball of Morristown; sisters and brothers-in-law Emma Deane and Bill Norris of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Delorse and Tom Black of Duncan, South Carolina.
Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Large and Rev. Ricky Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the services.
