Rev. Curtis Martin Riley, age 59, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009. He was pastor of Bybee United Methodist Church. He was the former pastor of Pleasant Valley, Catons Grove, Jones Chapel, and Mulberry Gap United Methodist Churches in Cocke County, Tennessee and many churches in West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ruby Riley. He is survived by his wife Donna Riley of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law John and Amber Riley, Columbus, OH; and Chris and Lisa Hudson, Elliott County, KY; daughter Lisa Riley of Ashland, KY; daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and Mike Herbst, Port St. Lucy, FL; Kimberly and Allesandro Menozzi, Reggo Amelia, Italy; brother and sister-in-law John (Joe) and Jeannie Riley, Ashland, KY; sisters and brother-in-law Anita and Willy Townsend and Pam Riley, all of Ashland, KY; grandchildren Ava and Griffin Riley, Brook and Nikie Gee, Beau Riley, Charlie Hudson, Audry Mefford, Kelsy and Jordan Herbst; also several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Bybee United Methodist Church with Dr. Mickey Rainwater officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Sunshine United Methodist Church, South Shores, KY, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
