Michael Manting, age 57, of Dandridge, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009, at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father George Manting, Jr.

He was an employee of Rural Medical In Newport. He was a past Assistant Scout Master in Brooksville, FL.

He was a kind and generous soul, who worked hard and had a special way with children.

He was a very loving husband, father, and papa to wife Hettie Manting; daughter Nicole Manting and grandson Joseph Manting.

He is also survived by his mother Arlene Manting; sisters Michele Manting and Meleanie Rhodes and husband Jim; brother Mitchel Manting and wife Sharon; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Knisley officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the church.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 812, Dandridge, TN 37725 or to the charity of your choice.
