Richard B. Fredette, age 88, of Newport, died Saturday
morning, January 25, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Fredette, parents
Charles and Adele Fredette, and siblings Isabelle LeBlanc, Henry Fredette,
Lucille Fredette, Yvonne Soder, and Charles Fredette.
He is survived by his son Brian and wife Lisa Fredette, his
daughter Michelle Fredette Seay and husband Chris, and grandson Jake Seay.
He was a decorated World War II veteran, being a two-time
Bronze Star recipient. He loved to fly the American flag with pride.
A skilled wood craftsman, he loved to tinker and create wood
clocks, trains, and toys.
We will never forget “Daddy math,” birthday dinners, and “I love you back.” He
will be sorely missed and was truly a gentleman and one of the “Greatest
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in
Newport, 212 Washington Ave., Newport, on Friday, January 31, 2014. The receiving
of friends will be Friday at the church from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with the service
following at 5:00 p.m.
