James D. Rector, age 61, of Newport, formerly of Millville, New Jersey, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Newport Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Harriet Rector, brother Randall Rector, and son Scott Rector.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Tommy Freeman of Newport; his former wife and mother of his children Sandra Rector of Vineland, New Jersey; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Brenda and Edgar Tuma of Vineland, New Jersey; special friends and caregivers Laura Crabtree, Debbie Parrott, and Janet Sams, and a host of other family and friends.

Burial will be held at a later date.
