Larry Ethridge Shaver, age 67, of Newport, went to be
with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Larry was a certified Lay Minister in the United
Methodist Church. He was presently attending Woodlawn United Methodist Church,
but was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church in North Greene
County.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps,
having served two tours in Vietnam.
He retired from Eastern Chemical Company in Kingsport in
2006.
He was preceded in death by his father Alfred C. Shaver
and mother Ella Dean Clevenger Wood.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Morgan Shaver of Newport;
daughter and son-in-law April and William Teilhet of Johnson City; grandson
William 'Fisher' Teilhet; sister Betty Lincoln Morgan; stepdaughter and her
husband Shelley and John Hammonds of Newport; stepson and his wife Michael and
Michelle Johnson of Dandridge; step-grandchildren: Max and Dixie Hammonds, and
Mattie, Maggie, Michael, and Mollie Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 13, 2013, with a memorial service following at 8:00 p.m. at
Baileyton United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Rimmer officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Union
Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 14, 2013, with a memorial service following at 8:00 p.m. at
Woodlawn United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Dzobo officiating.
