Joyce Clevenger, 69, went home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at home in Newport, TN.  Joyce grew up in Newport, TN. She dedicated her life to taking care of others as a nurse, for over 32 years. She was an award winning cook and loved to share her cooking talents with others. She was mamaw to all who attended Jolly Tots Learning Center. 

 Joyce was the wife of the late Jerry Clevenger and is survived by daughters Kandee Veridal and April Clevenger; sons, Chuck Clevenger and Judd Clevenger; siblings Dan Grooms, Shelby Owens, Betty Lancaster; grandchildren JK Walker, Josh, Jeremy, Landree (Veridal) great-grandchild Alyssa Walker; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Joyce unselfishly donated her body to science but what remains with us is the memory of a vibrant loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. 

 The family will be honoring Joyce’s wishes with no services. In lieu of services, the family requests memorial donations are made to the Jerry Clevenger Scholarship Memorial Fund, care of National Bank of Tennessee, Newport. This fund originated in memory of her late husband, Jerry Clevenger, to provide athletic equipment  to underserved children in Cocke County.
