Michael S. Carney of Cosby, TN, died unexpectedly on February
He was born in Washington, D. C. on September 3, 1961,
and graduated from Old Town High School in Maine.
Mike served in the United States Air Force for five years
before settling in Cosby.
He became a key staff member at the Log Home Information
Center founded by Allan and Doris Muir (sister), where he learned the craft of
log home building. He went on to work general construction and historic
Mike dearly loved his many dogs and enjoyed movies,
singing, and spending time with friends and family. He was known as a hard
worker and a man with a kind heart.
Michael was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth Colony
Eisner, brother-in-law Allan Muir, special niece Teresa Muir, and his Tennessee
"mom" Bertha Williamson.
He is survived by his sisters Doris Muir, Barbara Stewart
(Bill), and Mary-Lou Ogden (Peter) and their children. He also leaves behind
his Tennessee "family": Ferman, Quenton, and Twanena Williamson.
Those wishing to join in a celebration of Mike's life are
invited to attend this Sunday, February 10, 2013, the 10:00 a.m. worship
service at Little Pigeon Primitive Baptist Church off US Hwy. 321 between
Newport and Cosby.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Riverview
Cemetery in Huntingdon, PA at a later date.
