Ms. Bashie McMahan, age 80, of Cosby, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Everette Phillips, sister Pauline Talley, and brother Clayton McMahan.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Ann McMahan, daughter Dawn McMahan Phillips, all of Cosby; grandchildren Summer (Will) Brown of Morristown, Jay Phillips of Cosby; Josh (Courtney) McMahan of the United States Air Force, now stationed in Arkansas; great-grandchildren Mychal McMahan, Makenna McMahan, Maylea Brown, Bryson Phillips, and Morgan Phillips, all of Cosby; sisters Geneva Strom of Newport and Lesie Winters of Greeneville; brothers Graydon Mathis of Cosby; Jack Mathis, Chester McMahan, Creed McMahan, and Roy McMahan, all of Del Rio, and Lester McMahan of Cleveland, Ohio. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews, and friends, including special friends Nickey Spurgeon, Graydon and Sarah Mathis, and Linda Gray, all of Cosby.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Graydon Mathis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Union Cemetery for the 1:00 p.m. interment. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the services.
