George Arthur Hurst, age 77, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was a member of Day Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Martha Hurst, daughter Imogene Musslewhite, and brother Joshua Hurst.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Hurst of Newport, son and daughter-in-law Donald and Teresa Hurst of Newport; daughter Betty Malone of Knoxville; brother Fred Hurst of Dandridge; sisters Mary Lane and Zelma Lane of Dandridge; grandchildren Matthew Hurst, Andrew Hurst, Misty Ellison, Nicole Malone, Cody Malone, Jared Brady, Jason Harris, and Anthony Harris; great-grandchildren Madison and Jaden Hurst, Zaylie Malone, and Micah Harris.

Funeral services will held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Artie Sturm officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services. Burial will be private on Friday, February 1, 2013, in Union Cemetery.
