Leonard ‘Lenny’ Karl Zmich, age 51, of Newport, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 23, 2013, at Newport Medical Center after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Benard and Mildred Drabek, brothers Fank and Steve Zmich, and father-in-law Bill Keller.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Keller Zmich and daughters Brandy Nicole Zmich Hensley (Joe) and Jenny Brice Zmich, all of Newport; mother-in-law Bonnie Keller of Newport; grandchildren Logan Karl and Parker Brice Latno of Newport; brothers William Zmich and George Zmich of Cleveland, Ohio; and Johnny Zmich of West Virginia, and brother-in-law Bill Keller of Portland, Oregon.

Lenny was active in Scouts, church activities, sports, and community service.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00—8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, and Sunday from 12:00—2:00 p.m. prior to the services.

Graveside services will follow the funeral services at the Faubian Cemetery on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
