Ralph Black, age 71, of Cosby, passed away January 24, 2013, at Physicians Regional Hospital.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Diane Black, brother Hal Black, granddaughter Mary Webb, and stepson Artis Jenkins, Jr.

He is survived by his wife Christine Black of Cosby; sons David Black and Daniel (Sheila) Black; daughter Deborah Webb; stepdaughter Marina Jenkins and her fiancé Ronald Ashworth, all of Newport; sister Betty Worth of Greeneville; grandchildren Rachel Webb, Brittany Hill, Christopher Webb, Tiffany, Madison, and Austin Black; great-grandchildren Keegan Hall, Paisley Hall, Chloe Hill, Elijah Hill, and Zae Robertson; also other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Bryan officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
