Helen 'Karen' Edwards Burleson, 51, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.  

The memorial service will be held at Stanly County Shrines Club, 35781 City Lake Dr. Albemarle NC 28001 on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

At other times, the family will meet at her home.

Karen was born on January 16, 1961, to the late James King Edwards and the late Betty Jo Dunkle. She was also preceded in death by a twin brother James Haynes "Buck" Edwards.

She is survived by her loving husband of six years, William "Terry" Burleson of the home; son Josh Sides and wife Lisa of Albemarle; step-daughter Rianne Burleson of Badin; two brothers Charlie Brown and wife Gail of Michigan and Jerry Edwards and wife Pam of Albemarle; a sister Lisa Faye Rodgers and husband Ozzie of Arkansas; one sister-in-law Cathy Edwards of Albemarle; four grandchildren Keely Sides, Emma Sides, Taylor Thompson and Kendall Chandler; special friends Donna Ragsdale of Albemarle; Gary Poplin and wife Beverly of Albemarle; and Jo Biggers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Manager of Hal's Restaurant for 12 years, Karen loved her customers dearly.
