Mrs. Jean Taylor Barton, age 67, of Newport, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by parents Orville and Grace Taylor.

She is survived by her children Deborah Williamson and Carl Mooneyham, grandchildren Rachael Fleming, Rick Williamson, and Russell Mooneyham, three great-grandchildren, all of Newport; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Additional survivors include her husband  of 18 years Larry Hughes of Newport; three half-brothers, two half-sisters, all of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

The family received friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, with a memorial service following at 7:00 p.m., at Newport Church of God, 407 Old Knoxville Hwy., Newport, TN 37821, with Pastor Craig Cutshaw officiating.
