Betty Peden Robinson, age 85, of Newport, died Wednesday evening, January 9, 2013, at Parkwest Hospital, Knoxville, TN.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Newport.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Bennie Blair Peden and James E. Robinson, mother Margaret Carver Dean, and father Thomas Leonard Dean.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Meg and William (Bill) King of Knoxville; grandchildren Ryan F. King of Gainsville, FL and Kyle B. King of Knoxville; brother John M. Dean of Kosciusko, MS; sister and brother-in-law Mary Ruth and Joe Nickell of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers Madeline Robs, Cindy Johnson, and Meg Stewart and the staff of Homewood at Deane Hill Building 6 and 2.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Spell and Rev. Dwight Kenney officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the services.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, First United Methodist Church of Newport or Manna House, c/o Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Knoxville.
