Doris Faye Wilds Parks, age 87, of Parrottsville, passed
away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Wellington Place, Newport, TN.
She was a lifelong member of Manning Chapel Baptist
Church and a retired teacher having taught at Wolf Creek, Manning Chapel, and
Parrottsville Elementary Schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Monroe
(Roe) Parks, Jr., parents William Judson and Blanche Wilds, brothers Bernard
(Helen) Wilds and Fayne (Margaret) Wilds, sister Gladys (George) Copp, and
brother-in-law James Walker.
She is survived by her children Terri (Gary) Allen of Mt.
Juliet; Gary Parks, and Mike (Pat) Parks, all of Parrottsville; grandchildren
Bryan Parks of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jill (Ben) Butler of Newport; Zack Allen
of Mt. Juliet; Jenna (Sean) Allen of Lebanon, TN; Judson (Amanda) Allen of
Nashville; Jason, Jennifer, and Bradley Parks of Parrottsville; and Amber
(Joey) Barrett of Parrottsville; sisters Audrey (Jim) Weeks of Morristown and
Hazel Walker of Maryville; numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces,
nephews, and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday,
January 10, 2013, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Strange
officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, in
Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:30 p.m.
Thursday prior to the funeral services at Manes Funeral Home.
