Louzella Atkins, age 82, of Newport, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Systems.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ken and Effie Buckner and her husband Lloyd Atkins.

Survivors include her daughters Darlene Godino of Suffolk, Virginia; Kathy James of Lexington, North Carolina, and Lorene Turner of Greeneville; sons Linten Atkins of Newport and Terry Atkins of Bybee; grandchildren Benjamin, Kimberly, Brandi, and Shana Atkins; Jesse and Cassie Turner, Bradley James, Eveie Godino; great-grandchildren Chandler and Beverly Atkins, Connor Atkins, and Christian Turner; brothers Leonard Buckner and Linten Buckner of Ohio; and sister Zola Holt of Bridgeton, New Jersey. There are numerous nephews and nieces as well.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the New Home Freewill Baptist Church with a graveside service following at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday from 12:00—2:00 p.m. prior to the services.
