Jack Shepherd, age 68, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jack Harold and Mary Belle Shepherd, brother Russell Shepherd, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Solon Ottinger and Judge and Mrs. George Shepherd.

He is survived by his daughter Kim Shepherd of Newport; grandson Eli Smith of Newport; granddaughter Hannah (Chance) Romines and great-grandson Connor Romines, both of Hawaii; aunts and uncles: Ila Ruth LaFollette and Clyde and Nadine Ottinger, all of Greeneville; Wilma and Ted Shelton of Parrottsville; Louella Hensley of Arizona; Elsie Hensley of Greeneville; Barbara Ottinger of Greeneville; Betty Ottinger of Parrottsville; Anna Kate Teague of Oak Ridge; and Helen Gorman of Newport; and several other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Watts officiating.

Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, in Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
