Charity D. Fisher passed away at Newport Health and
Rehabilitation Center on December 7, 2012.
She was born March 2, 1918, in Cocke County to Charles
and Mary Devore.
Charity belonged to First United Methodist Church in
Newport. She loved attending Sunday School in the Ladies Bible Class, where she
served as longtime treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Buddy
Fisher, brother Elbert Devore, and sisters Edna Devore, Connie Phillips, Lena
Williams, Stella Haynes, and Myrtle Devore.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Pat and L.
C. Gregg, grandchildren Chris Shoopman and husband Steve and Todd Gregg and
wife Susanne; great-grandchildren Mandi Crusenberry, Cara Gregg, Kayla Smith,
Todd Shoopman and Sheena Hunley and husband Zack; great-great-grandchild Landon
Hunley; several nieces and nephews, and friend and companion Virginia Blazer.
The funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
December 12, 2012, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Spell and Rev.
Marta Cogburn officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Wednesday prior to the funeral services.
