Robbie Wilds Bedenbaugh, 88, of Lexington, South
Carolina, born in the Houston Valley area of Tennessee on February 9, 1924,
passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
She was a daughter of the late Jacob Leroy Wilds and
Winnie Ray Wilds and widow of the late Jacob C. 'Bill' Bedenbaugh.
Robbie was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church, where she
founded, faithfully served, and was later named librarian emeritus of the church
library.
She was a liaison volunteer at Lexington Medical Center
and also volunteered at Lexington Extended Care.
Robbie spent a lot of her time volunteering, helping
others and loved bird watching and taking care of her flowers.
She retired from the University of South Carolina.
Known as 'Gammy' by her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, each of them had a 'special place in her heart.'
Survivors include her two daughters Karen B. Parrish
(John Wayne) and Susan B. Powell (Butch), all of Lexington; five grandchildren
Robert A. Powell, Jr. (Jamie), Robyne M. Parrish, Joshua Wilds Powell
(Allison), Allison Lee Hill (Roger), and Lindsay Dixon Bost (Derrick); nine
great-grandchildren; and two sisters Nuffie Arrington and Phyllis Wilds.
The family extends a special "Thank you" to
staff of Crews Point at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care for their loving
care.
A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in
Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery.
A celebration of life and fellowship followed in the
church sanctuary.
Pallbearers were Rob Powell, Josh Powell, Roger Hill,
Derrick Bost, Anthony Arrington, and Jimmy Wilds.
