Charles Ralph Dorsey, 82, passed away November 19, 2012,
at Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken, South Carolina, after a brief illness.
Born in Cosby, he was a son of the late Ervin and Maxine
Hicks Dorsey.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during the
Korean Conflict and was employed by Dupont/Westinghouse at the Savannah River
Site for 40 years.
His favorite pastimes were NASCAR, golf, Tennessee and Clemson
football, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorsey was preceded in
death by his brother Jimmy Ray Dorsey and his first wife of 38 years, Wanda
Barnes Dorsey.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years Miriam Dyches
Dorsey, two daughters Debra Dorsey-Stinson (Stuart) and Diana L. Dorsey, both
of Aiken; step-son Chris Nettles (Danielle); stepdaughter Susan Shaw (Wayne);
and step-grandchildren Nichole Cornell, David Stinson, Samantha Stinson, Stephanie
Clark, Bevin Shaw, and Tanner Shaw, and his dog Paco.
The family received friends Tuesday, November 20, 2012,
at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service led by
Pastor Kevin Carter. Private interment was held Wednesday morning in Southlawn
Cemetery.
