Carol McMahan Metcalf, age 70, of Newport, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Fort Sanders Medical Center.

She was a member of West End Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother Opal McMahan and sister Virginia Cureton.

Carol is survived by her husband Dan Metcalf, daughter and son-in-law Allison and Eric Manes, son and daughter-in-law Bert and Jeri Metcalf, grandchildren Little Jim Denton, Bo Denton, Beck Manes, and Coty Hoskins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stan and Judy Metcalf; nieces and nephews Billy and Jane Cureton, Terry and Susie Cureton, David and Karen Nelson, Terry and Jan Brockwell, Jeanne Metcalf, Michael Kagel, Domenic Metcalf, Jeff Metcalf, Burgess and Lindsey Metcalf, and Lesley and TJ McCoy.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Union Cemetery with Rev. Tom Mooty and Rev. Marta Cogburn officiating.
