Charles Roger Woods, age 62, of Newport, died Saturday, November 3, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Ashley Gregg, father Charles Rufus Woods, and brother Edd Woods.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Woods of Newport, children Jackie Dalton of Knoxville, Summer Shelton of Morgan County, Shaylynn Hance of Newport, and Shannon Hance of Kingsport; mother Hazel Woods of Dandridge; sister Pat (Roger) Hartsell of Dandridge; twelve grandchildren and many other family and friends.

The family would like to say a special "Thank you" to Smoky Mountain Hospice, Glen Bradley, Jimmy Butler, and his caregiver Mary Ray.

The family will receive friends at Manes Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012, with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Glen Bradley and Rev. Troy Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Swans Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
