Johnny Ray Shelton, age 72, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sheila Shelton, mother and father Grace and Frank Shelton, and brother Paul (Bud) Shelton.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years JoAnn Shelton of Newport; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Ryan Briggs of Dandridge; sister Pat (Jody) Evans and brothers Jackie (Lisa) Shelton and Jim (Margaret) Shelton, all of Newport; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special niece Glenda McMahan.

Friends and family will be received Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Wilsonville Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Steve Blanchard officiating. Friends And family will meet at Wilsonville Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to cemetery. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Faubian Cemetery in Parrottsville.
