Earl Hux, age 79, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012, at Jefferson County Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Susie Hux and sisters Hazel Hux and Imogene Hux.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Willa Mae Hux of Newport; daughter and son-in-law Pat and Freddy Henry of Dandridge; granddaughter and her husband Emily and Alan Abrams of Dandridge; great-grandson Aran Abrams; brother Paul (Betty) Hux; sister Clydia B. Crum, Edith (Wade) Pruitt, Geraldine (Ken) Wright; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law James 'Pig' (Alene) Shropshire, Lorene Hartsell, Wayne (Polly) Shropshire, and Gary (Debbie) Shropshire; also many other family and friends.

A special "Thank you" goes to his caregivers Rick, Joy, Desserie, Judy, Gary, Barbara, and the rest of the staff at Jefferson County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Miller and Rev. Gary Shropshire officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
