Mr. Carroll Gibson, born March 3, 1937, passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 16, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Porter Gibson and mother Katie Stinnett Gibson.

Survivors include his wife Sue Gibson of the home; daughter Rebecca Gibson of Newport; son and daughter-in-law David and Julie Gibson of Maryville; grandson Jacob Gibson of Newport; and brother Gene Gibson of Vonore.

Additional survivors include a host of family and friends.

A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Open Door Church Cemetery (Phillips Cemetery) with Pastor Tom Shelton officiating.

The family received friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
