Charles "Bud" Scott Webb, age 71, of Newport,
died at Baptist Hospital on Sunday, March 7, 2010, following a long illness.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother,
and friends.
He was born February 5, 1939, in Newport, to the late
Scott and Edith Gregg Webb. He attended Northport Grammar School and graduated
from Cocke County High School in 1958.
Bud served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort
Kit Carson, Colorado Springs.
On October 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to
Paulette Roberta Woodson.
Bud worked for Enka in Lowland for several years until he
started with the Newport Utilities Board where he retired in 2002.
Bud was a member of English Mountain Christian Church
where he served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday school teacher.
Bud is survived by his wife Polly of Newport; their
daughter and her husband Lisa and David Sweet; his granddaughter Erinn Bailey
Sweet, and his grandson Ethan Garrett Sweet, all of Williamsburg, KY; and one
sister and her husband Martha and Wayne Shepherd of Newport.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March
9, 2010, at English Mountain Christian Church. Burial will follow in Union
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the
church prior to the services.
