Bobbie Jean Martin Barnes, of Newport, born on July 27, 1933, passed away Sunday morning, March 7, 2010, at her home.

She was a fun-loving and a very caring person and loved to visit family and friends. She especially loved caring for her many "babies," no matter what their age! Her kind spirit and sweet nature will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben "Fuzz" Barnes; parents Alger and Ethel Martin; sisters Agnes Forner, Juanita Taylor, and Mildred Sutton; nephew Larry Taylor; and nieces Sue Taylor and Brenda Woodson.

Left to mourn her passing are her nephews Forrest "Sonny" Greene, Jerry Forner and wife Jean; niece Pam (Sutton) Herndon; and nephew Larry Barnes and wife Yolanda; great-nieces and great-nephews Karen (Greene) Isaacs and husband Tim; Renae Venerable and finace Pat Davis; Missy Herndon, Chad Woodson and wife Julie; Shea (Forner) Childers and husband Todd; Shayna (Forner) James and husband Brandon; Chris Barnes and Craig Barnes; great-great-nephews and nieces: Jeremy Ramsey, Tyler Venerable, Drake Woodson, Tia Valentine, Brailyn James, Kristi James, Bryce, Brady, Brooks, and Braylee Childers; also lifelong friends Dean Moore and Linda Clevenger.

Special thanks to her caregivers Melissa Oakes, Tammy Greene, and Tammy Tyson.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Manes  Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Barnes officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the funeral services.
