Rev. Charles O'Connor Stephenson, age 64, of Newport, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010. He was the pastor of Mt. View Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Willadean Stephenson.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Stephenson of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Jada Stephenson, Newport, Dwayne and Mysti Stephenson, Gray, TN, Anthony Stephenson, Michael and Terra Ellison, and Charles Leach; daughters and sons-in-law, Unalee and Bradley Holt, Maria and Robert Card all of Newport; sisters, Gween Holt of Newport, Margaretta Holt of Morristown, Aunt Gaynell Overholt of Bybee and fifteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Centerview Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Glen Ball and Rev. Ron Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Centerview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Manes Funeral Home.
