Dorothy Imogene Evans Shoemaker, age 72, Carson SpringsRoad, Newport, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Mercy Hospital inKnoxville following a short illness.

She was an active member of Edgemont Church of God.

She is survived by her husband Glen Shoemaker, Newport;sister Bashi Kirk, Newport; son Dale Shoemaker, Lenoir City; daughter CarleneShoemaker, Sevierville; daughter Lorri Baxter, Newport; and son and daughter-in-lawBruce and Tracy Shoemaker, Newport.

She was blessed with six grandchildren: Jason Shoemakerof Virginia and Patrick Shoemaker, Jonathan Shoemaker, Peyton Shoemaker, JacobBaxter, and Jordan Baxter, all of Newport.

The day of her passing was forever commemorated by thebirth of her only great-grandchild, Ms. Caroline Elizabeth Shoemaker, ofVirginia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Manes Funeral Home. The funeral service will followat 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Nations officiating.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010, at1:00 p.m. in Union Cemetery.
